Our Mission

To enhance the quality of life and the sense of community throughout the village of Ferrum, Virginia.

Ferrum Forward is a group of local citizens formed to support the Ferrum Village Area Plan that the Franklin County Board of Supervisors adopted in 2019. Our goal is to enhance cooperation among local businesses, the college, and the general population.

We seek input from the public to help prioritize the Ferrum community's needs. Current projects include working on sidewalk extensions, a historical marker, and exploring the possibility of a Community Center or pavilion for music, the farmers market, meetings, etc. You can see a list of our current and past projects on our Projects page.

We are also utilizing our website as a place for residents and visitors alike to come for information about Ferrum events, news, and more. This includes creating a business directory for the area, a visitor information page (coming soon!), and an updated events calendar.

In addition, we are currently working with the Franklin County Department of Planning and Community Development to create a plan that best utilizes the county-owned 80-acre parcel located in Ferrum for the maximum benefit of the community and its residents.

Ferrum Forward meets the SECOND TUESDAY of every month, at 6 p.m. in the Ferrum Faith Church building across from the Ferrum Police station. Everyone interested in the Ferrum area is welcome. There is no charge to attend.
