Our Mission

To enhance the quality of life and the sense of community throughout the village of Ferrum, Virginia.

Ferrum Forward is a group of local citizens formed to support the Ferrum Village Area Plan that the Franklin County Board of Supervisors adopted in 2019. Our goal is to enhance cooperation among local businesses, the college, and the general population.

We seek input from the public to help prioritize the Ferrum community's needs. Current projects include working on sidewalk extensions, a historical marker, and exploring the possibility of a Community Center or pavilion for music, the farmers market, meetings, etc. You can see a list of our current and past projects on our Projects page.

We are also utilizing our website as a place for residents and visitors alike to come for information about Ferrum events, news, and more. This includes creating a business directory for the area, a visitor information page (coming soon!), and an updated events calendar.

We work together with multiple other local organizations including the Ferrum Lions Club, Ferrum Park, Phoebe Needles, the Blue Ridge Institute & Museum, Ferrum Volunteer Fire Department and Public Safety, and many others. We all work together to help create our thriving, vibrant community.

Ferrum Forward meets the SECOND TUESDAY of every month, at 5:30 p.m. in the Blue Ridge Institute & Museum located at 20 Museum Dr. Ferrum, VA. Everyone interested in the Ferrum area is welcome. There is no charge to attend.
